Acceptable Use Policy

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all images, signatures, files, requests, processed outputs, accounts, and activities submitted to or performed through SignatureClear. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

SignatureClear is an independent product that uses third-party AI image segmentation, currently including Alibaba Cloud image-processing technology, to remove backgrounds from signature images. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by an AI model provider.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use SignatureClear to:

• Remove backgrounds from handwritten signature images that you own or are legally authorized to use.
• Convert a scan or photograph into a transparent PNG for lawful personal, professional, or organizational document workflows.
• Prepare legitimate contracts, invoices, forms, correspondence, and similar documents, provided that your use does not misrepresent a person's approval or identity.

3. Prohibited Content

You must not upload, process, store, or distribute through the Services any content involving:

• Sexually explicit or NSFW material, including nudity, pornography, or sexualized imagery.
• Violence or graphic harm, including gore or abuse of people or animals.
• Hate or discrimination targeting a person or group based on a protected characteristic.
• Child sexual abuse or exploitation material (CSAM), sexualized depictions of minors, or content that endangers a child.
• Deepfakes, impersonation, or deceptive identity content, including a signature used to falsely represent another person's authorization.
• Copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights violations, including material you do not have permission to process.

We have zero tolerance for CSAM, terrorism or violent-extremist content, instructions for weapons of mass destruction, non-consensual sexual imagery, or content intended to facilitate serious violence. We may report apparently illegal material to the appropriate authorities when required or permitted by law.

4. Prohibited Activities

You must not use or attempt to use the Services to:

• Forge, reproduce, alter, or present another person's signature without lawful authority.
• Commit fraud, identity theft, document falsification, misrepresentation, or any unlawful act.
• Mislead a recipient about who signed or approved a document.
• Upload malicious files, scripts, exploits, or content designed to attack a user, provider, or system.
• Bypass authentication, file validation, security measures, rate limits, payment controls, or credit accounting.
• Probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the Services or connected infrastructure.
• Use automated tools in a way that degrades the Services or consumes resources outside the functionality we provide.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to our processing pipeline without prior written authorization.
• Violate applicable law, payment-network rules, sanctions, or third-party rights.

5. AI Processing and User Responsibility

SignatureClear performs background removal and image segmentation. It is not a prompt-based image generator and does not create a new person's signature. Processed results may contain errors, omissions, or artifacts.

You are solely responsible for:

• Confirming that you have authority to use the uploaded signature.
• Reviewing every result before inserting it into a document or transaction.
• Obtaining any consent required from the signer or rights holder.
• Ensuring that the resulting document is accurate, authentic, and lawful.

You must not describe SignatureClear as an official product of Alibaba Cloud or any other technology provider, or imply that a provider endorses your use.

6. Safety and Review Practices

Our technical controls include account authentication, file-size and file-type validation, credit controls, signed payment events, and operational security logging. These controls do not constitute a guarantee that every uploaded image has been reviewed for content before processing.

We may review account records, reported material, and available content when reasonably necessary and legally permitted to investigate abuse, security incidents, payment fraud, or violations of this AUP. Users must not rely on the Services to determine whether their content or intended use is lawful.

7. Reporting Violations

Report suspected violations to [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the account, image, URL, or activity, explain the concern, and show your relationship to any rights involved. Do not send illegal content as an email attachment; provide a safe reference or description instead.

We will handle reports in good faith, protect reporter information where reasonably possible, and prioritize credible reports involving child safety, serious violence, fraud, or imminent harm.

8. Enforcement

Depending on severity, history, intent, and legal obligations, we may:

• Warn the user and require corrective action.
• Remove content or disable access to stored files.
• Restrict processing features or credits.
• Temporarily suspend or permanently terminate an account.
• Preserve evidence, cooperate with providers, reverse fraudulent benefits, or report suspected illegal conduct to appropriate authorities.

Severe violations, including CSAM, serious fraud, or intentional signature forgery, may result in immediate termination without prior warning. Enforcement does not limit other rights or remedies available under our Terms or law.

9. Appeals

If you believe we acted in error, email [email protected] from your registered account address. Identify the decision and explain why it should be reconsidered. We will conduct a reasonable review, but access may remain restricted while safety, fraud, or legal concerns are investigated.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this AUP to reflect changes in the Services, risks, providers, or law. The updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated AUP.
